Course Objective

This course aims to deepen prospective teachers theoretical understanding of thinking processes, familiarize them with various types of thinking, and equip them with the practical competencies required to effectively integrate these skills into educational settings. Within the scope of the course, particular emphasis is placed on the systematic development of analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills through problems encountered in science education and real-life scenarios. Educational implications of thinking skills will be explored through mental exercises, artistic approaches, and case-based analyses.
The primary aim of this course is to enhance pre-service teachers theoretical and practical knowledge regarding thinking skills and to raise awareness about how these skills can be effectively developed within the instructional process. In this context, the course seeks to strengthen the pedagogical competencies of teacher candidates in relation to problem-solving, decision-making, and creative production processes.

2   Compares the characteristics of critical, creative, analytical, and systematic thinking styles.
3   Analyzes the methods and techniques used in the instruction of thinking skills.
4   Designs classroom activities aimed at enhancing students thinking skills.
5   Evaluates thinking skills in applied contexts within science education and daily life scenarios.
6   Supports students cognitive development through art-based and mental exercises.
7   Develops appropriate tools and strategies for the assessment and evaluation of thinking skills.
