Course Objective

The main aim of the course is to develop understanding of basic concepts about science and scientific research. Students understand the methods and techniques used in research designs and apply them in new scientific problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can recall fundamental concepts in scientific research.
2   Can explain the importance of science and scientific research.
3   Can describe the stages of the scientific research process.
4   Can identify a research topic and formulate a problem statement.
5   Can conduct a literature review appropriate to the research topic.
6   Can determine suitable research methods for the topic.
7   Can prepare reports in accordance with scientific writing conventions.
