Course Objective

The aim of this course is to equip prospective teachers with basic first aid knowledge, develop their ability to intervene correctly and consciously in emergency situations, and ensure they are prepared for potential health problems in the school environment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the basic principles of first aid.
2   Understands the importance of first aid in emergency situations.
3   Applies appropriate first aid to injuries such as bleeding, burns, or fractures.
4   Responds to life-threatening situations such as airway obstruction and cardiac arrest.
5   Uses appropriate first aid methods for health problems likely to occur in a school setting.

1 Definition, purpose, and basic principles of first aid
2 Characteristics and ethics of a first aider
3 Scene assessment and ensuring safety
4 Airway obstruction and Heimlich maneuver
5 Cardiac arrest and basic life support (BLS)
6 Bleeding and shock management
7 General revision, evaluation, midterm exam
8 Burns, frostbite, heat stroke
9 First aid for fractures, dislocations, sprains
10 Poisoning and animal bites
11 First aid in cases of choking and fainting
12 Transport techniques for casualties
13 Emergency scenarios in school settings
14 General revision and practical evaluation
15 Final Exam
