Course Objective

The mental health literacy course aims to facilitate early diagnosis and intervention and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness by covering the knowledge, beliefs and skills that enable the recognition, management and prevention of mental health problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the effects of stigmatization of psychological problems on individuals.
2   Discuss the causes of psychological problems and how these problems can manifest.
3   Understand the risk factors for psychological problems and comprehend preventive measures.
4   Explain the sources of help offered in the community and professional health services.
5   Discuss approaches to improve mental health literacy in individuals.
6   Evaluate effective methods to protect and strengthen mental health.
