Course Objective

The objective of this course, so as to gain a a world view, is to examine geographical features such as locations of continents and countries, land forms, climates, vegetations, population and economical structures etc.; to compare the location of Turkey on the world and its geopolitical-geoeconomical power with other countries, and to examine political, economical and commercial organisations.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Read World's political and physical maps; to be able to positioning continents, oceans and countries.
2   Explain the geographical features of continents and countries.
3   Discuss the problems and results, which emerge in scope of natural environmental and human relationships in the world.
4   Examine the level of development of world countries at present day in the scope of past-present-future relations.
5   Explain the geopolitical significance of countries.
6   Comprehend the socio-cultural, economical, political relationships Turkey with the countries of the Balkan, Caucasian, Middle East, Europe, Islam and Turkic World.
7   Interpret developments in the political geography of world.
