Course Objective

Supporting technical and color knowledge in figure studies.
Practical experience of color knowledge and oil paint usage techniques.
Transferring information about use of color to the student with examples from art history.

1   Realting from information to color using the live model.
2   Organizing the painting surface in the line with the light-dark, warm-cool balance of colours.
3   Acquiring the ability to plan how colors will be positioned on the surface while creating a composition.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Creating a pattern infrastucture with a single color and creating local tones. Establishing a light-dark, warm-cool balance with black, white and brown.
2 Finding colors and creating a pallette.
3 Organizing the painting surface with different colors to create harmony.
4 Acquiring the ability to plan how colors will be positioned on the surface while creating a composition.
5 Creating sketches in line with the relationship of colors to eachother.
