Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable the student to analyze current issues related to women's health in Turkey, to evaluate the social, cultural, political, and economic determinants of these issues, and to develop solution proposals addressing them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   LO1. Recognizes the fundamental concepts, indicators, and historical development related to women's health in Turkey.
2   LO2. Evaluates, in a multidimensional manner, the factors affecting women's health issues such as socioeconomic structure, migration, and health policies.
3   LO3. Identifies and interprets health problems specific to women in the light of evidence-based scientific knowledge and epidemiological data.
4   LO4. Analyzes the policies and legal regulations aimed at improving women s health in Turkey
5   LO5. Identifies a current issue related to women's health, conducts research on it, develops solution proposals, and prepares an academic presentation and report

Assessment Criteria

The midterm exam will consist of a presentation. Report writing will be evaluated within the scope of the project. The final exam will be a face-to-face written exam with classical (open-ended) questions.
