Course Objective

Develop awareness (consciousness) of the visual vocabulary of design, such as line, shape, texture, color, and space.
Understand design principles such as unity, variety, balance, emphasis, dominance, rhythm, movement, visual harmony, proportion, scale, hierarchy, figure/ground relationships, and plastic economy.
Develop conceptual, analytical, and creative thinking skills through projects and discussions.
Learn to draw or illustrate designed or organic objects with different line styles, in a linear, toned, and realistic manner, without making errors in proportion and scale, based on fundamental perspective knowledge.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Identify both the visual and theoretical aspects of the problem, gather data for solving the problem, examine it, transfer it to paper, and develop it.
2   Produce interactive works to solve the visual problem using the basic elements and principles of design.
3   Develop creative and analytical thinking skills.
4   Acquire visual perception, artistic language, and presentation skills, as well as the theoretical intellectual foundation for art.
5   Gain the ability to correctly apply the design using different materials and tools.

It is carried out through visual presentations created for weekly programs and practical projects planned in accordance with the course outcomes, which are produced under the guidance of the course instructors within the workshop.

Assessment Criteria

The practical projects conducted throughout the semester are graded by a jury created by the course instructors using a 100-point system, and the final grade is determined by calculating the average.

Minimum attendance of 70% required.
Adherence to the pre-determined assignment/presentation and project submission schedule.
