Course Objective

It aims to comprehensively examine how digital technology tools and media platforms are transforming filmmaking and the post-cinema process. Students will explore the application of innovative technological methods in digital filmmaking and investigate their impact on creative processes and narrative tactics. They will delve deeper into how these new media tools are transforming traditional media genres such as cinema and television and the impact of the digital age on content consumption behaviors. Students will be able to critically evaluate the cultural, social and economic implications of digital film creation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Analyze the advancement of technology and the emergence of digital media platforms.
2   To explore the differences between traditional media and digital platforms and their impact on audience behavior.
3   Assess the impact of digital platforms on cultural norms, social frameworks and everyday discourses.
4   Examine the economic impact of digital platforms on the media sector and emerging business models.
5   Analyze the presentation and consumption of popular content and sports spectacles in various markets, including Turkey.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

It is diversified to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of digital media platforms and their impact on content consumption. Lectures with interactive elements and group work will encourage students' active participation. They will work on individual or group projects throughout the semester, which will develop their skills in researching, analyzing and presenting.
