Course Objective

The aim of this course is for students to develop conceptual, analytical, and creative thinking skills through projects and discussions, gain knowledge about the basic properties of color, learn about color contrasts, learn to distinguish and perceive color and tone value, and learn to mix colors to discover other hues.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1.Being able to grasp the attributes of color; consciously using basic color schemes and harmonies; being able to distinguish between the differences in paint and light colors.
2   2.Learning the terminology of color through discussions and critiques.
3   3.Being able to demonstrate the interactions of color, color mixtures, and the basic properties of color through application in their work.
4   4.Learning basic color theory concepts such as the color wheel, color tones, color temperatures, and color harmonies, and being able to apply this knowledge in their designs.

It is carried out through visual presentations created for weekly programs and practical projects planned in accordance with the course outcomes, which are produced under the guidance of the course instructors within the workshop.

Assessment Criteria

The practical projects conducted throughout the semester are graded by a jury created by the course instructors using a 100-point system, and the final grade is determined by calculating the average.

Adherence to the pre-determined assignment/presentation and project submission schedule.
