Course Objective

-. To identify the place and importance of clothing in human life and to understand the factors that influence clothing.
-. To understand the clothing characteristics of each period within the chronological history of clothing.
-. To develop the ability to analyze clothing from a period in accordance with the clothing analysis methodology.
-. To understand all the characteristics of clothing from a period, including clothing, accessories such as shoes and hats, fabric characteristics, hairstyles, and makeup.
-. To develop the skills to design for works that explore the history of clothing in stage costume design.
-. To teach the theories of "clothing history" necessary for stage costume design and for stage costume creation for works that continue to operate in parallel with the history of theater plays.
-. To research the history of clothing as it unfolds in parallel with the history of theater and to develop the ability to reflect these characteristics on the play's character while preserving them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   . Learn "clothing history" theories required to design stage costumes for the artwork in the parallel of Theater History
2   Possess the cultural knowledge that will form the base of Performing Arts
3   Be able to convey and present scientific research process and results of it with different visual presentation methods (role, stage, article, thesis, bulletin) with the homework researches to be
4   Possess knowledge about innovative, contemporary approaches to Performing Arts by observation of literary work belong to art of theater adapted to cinema, visuals belong to theater shows, historical films cover the related periods, pieces of performance arts and documentaries
5   Be able to use the theoretical information he/she learned in the field of Performing Arts and present this information to his/her audience via design applications by learning chronological clothing properties
6   Possess theoretical knowledge regarding "other branches of arts" in the performance arts which is an interdisciplinary art branch,
7   Possess social and scientific ethic values
