Course Objective |
The aim of this course is to provide the students with the knowledge of pitch and beat sequences in Turkish traditional art music in a historical context. Comparisons with current productions will be done and listening examples will be given to provide musicological value. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The students will actively participate the subjects and repertoire, application techniques, auralization tendencies, aesthetical changes and their impacts on technique will be discussed. |

Assessment Criteria |
Midterm and final examinations are evaluated on a scale of 100, with the point value of each question explicitly stated. Each student is required to prepare at least one term paper. A preparation period of two weeks is granted for assignments; submissions not delivered within this timeframe shall be deemed unsuccessful. |

Course Policies and Rules |
Class participation, active involvement in class, problem solving skills, active participation in the applications and skills in evaluating the results are the main requirements for the course. Late arrivals after the first ten minutes will not be permitted and the student will be considered as not available. |
