Course Objective

To provide students with information about full ceramics, CAD-CAM technology, laser sintering, defect prostheses, fixed or removable prostheses on implants and construction stages in dentistry. To teach closure relationships, harmony in eccentric movements and physiological requirements together and in integrity.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student defines all-ceramic restorations and explains their areas of use.
2   The student defines defect prostheses and the stages of their construction.
3   The student defines laser sintering methods and explains their basic characteristics.
4   The student defines acrylic and reinforcement methods and explains their basic characteristics.
5   The student lists the clinical and laboratory stages of fixed and removable implant-supported prostheses and explains the purpose of each stage.
6   The student compares different ceramic systems and analyzes their advantages and limitations.
7   The student evaluates the suitability of different prosthetic materials according to clinical case requirements.

Exams may be multiple-choice tests, homework assignments, or a traditional written exam. The course grade is calculated by taking 40% of the midterm exam grade and 60% of the final exam grade.
