Course Objective

The student explains and discusses the development of healthcare services and hospitals, the hospital system, as well as the purposes, functions, and classifications of hospitals.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student defines the basic purposes and functions of healthcare institutions.
2   The student lists the basic organizational structure of healthcare institutions.
3   The student explains the characteristics of a leader, self-confident, and productive individual in healthcare institutions.
4   The student explains the principles of organization and management in healthcare institutions.
5   The student correlates health planning, health policies, and the factors shaping health sectors within global health systems.
6   The student explains the economic and administrative functioning of healthcare institutions and evaluates knowledge of economics, accounting, business, law, and financial management at a level applicable to the health sector.

3. The student explains and exemplifies the functions of planning, organizing, executing, and controlling in healthcare institutions.
4. The student classifies and evaluates the factors that shape health planning, health policies, and health sectors in global health systems.
5. The student analyzes the economic and managerial functioning of healthcare institutions and applies and evaluates knowledge of economics, accounting, business, law, and financial management in the healthcare sector.
