Course Objective

The aim of the training program is to enhance the knowledge level of auxiliary personnel working in the sector regarding contemporary practices, thereby contributing to the improvement of service quality.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands the duties and importance of the dental assistant.
2   Defines the recording of patient data, including dental and medical information.
3   Defines the instruments, devices, and basic consumable materials used in dentistry.
4   Understands the preparation of the patient for dental radiography.
5   Explains the protective measures during dental radiography.
6   Defines sterilization and disinfection in dentistry.

Assessment Criteria

The course grade is determined by calculating 40% of the midterm examination and 60% of the final examination. A resit examination is administered for students who do not pass.
