Competence in clinical practice in pediatric dentistry

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The child takes an anamnesis from the patient.
2   Performs oral examination on pediatric patients.
3   Performs radiographic examination.
4   Performs restorative procedures.
5   Performs tooth extraction.
6   Applies the space maintainer appliance.
7   Applies endodontic treatment protocols to pediatric patients.
8   Analyzes the indications for tooth extraction in children.
9   Evaluates risks during treatment.
10   Determines the restorative procedure to be applied to the child patient.
11   Creates an appropriate treatment plan.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods


The student performs the necessary examinations and evaluations of a randomly assigned patient, establishes a diagnosis, and completes the treatment planning. Subsequently, these procedures are re-evaluated by faculty members and assistants. The student is provided with the necessary feedback and guidance.
