Course Objective

It is aimed to provide students with clinical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Performs basic surgical examination of the oral, dental, and maxillofacial region.
2   Plans minor surgical procedures such as complicated tooth extraction (e.g., sectioning of roots with a handpiece), drainage of submucosal abscesses, and similar interventions.

4   Acts in accordance with asepsis-antisepsis principles during surgical procedures.
5   Identifies complications in surgical procedures.
6   Explains the appropriate management steps for complications in surgical procedures.
7   Prepares an appropriate surgical treatment plan for the patient.
8   Conducts postoperative follow-up of the patient.
9   Collaborates with relevant specialties for multidisciplinary patient management.

1 Clinical Practise The student performs the necessary examinations and assessments of a randomly assigned patient, makes a diagnosis, and completes the treatment planning.
