Course Objective

To teach the concepts of sustainability and environmentally friendly dentistry in dentistry, sustainable energy management strategies, the selection of dental equipment and materials in accordance with the concept of sustainability, the necessary methods to reduce the negative effects of dental materials on the environment.

Assessment Criteria

In this course, students are expected to develop comprehensive knowledge and skills in sustainability and environmentally friendly practices in dentistry. They should be able to explain sustainable energy management strategies in dental clinics, accurately classify different types of dental waste, and apply appropriate waste management protocols. Furthermore, students are expected to consider sustainability criteria when selecting equipment and materials, identify eco-friendly alternatives, and propose effective solutions for the recycling of dental materials. They should be able to analyze the environmental impacts of dental materials based on scientific evidence and develop innovative, practical strategies to minimize these effects. Ultimately, students will integrate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to adopt environmentally conscious and sustainable dentistry approaches.
