Introducing laboratory equipments, teaching how to do a simple experiment.

1   Know the safety rules and chemical hygiene in the chemistry laboratory
2   Propose methods for separation of mixtures and measure density of liquids
3   Explain gase laws and acid-base neutralisation and measure pH
4   Propose chemical experiments for equilibrium
5   Know chemical compounds, glassware used in the laboratories

1 Introduction to Chemistry Laboratory
2 Safety rules and presentation of laboratory materials, glassware used in the lab.
3 Density (Determination of the density of liquids and solids)
4 Types of Compounds (to examine the difference between ionic and covalent compounds)
5 Chemical Reactions (Addition, DecompositionReplacement reactions)
6 Gases - Diffusion of gases and Graham's Law
7 Le Chatelier's Principle (A study of the iron(III) thiocyanate equilibrium)
8 Midterm Exam
9 Preparation of the Solutions (Molarity, Molality, Normality, Volume and weight percent, mole ratio and ppm)
10 Purification - Recrystallization of Benzoic acid
11 Acids and Bases (pH concept)
12 Titration: Acid-base titration
13 Electrolysis
14 General Review
