Course Objective

To teach the transition from Rome to Byzantium, Byzantine political history, the basic features of the Byzantine administrative structure and the collapse of the Byzantine Empire.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the transformation of Rome into Byzantium
2   To have knowledge about the political history of Byzantium
3   Analyze the course of Byzantine political-military history
4   Recognizes the basic administrative features of the Byzantine structure
5   Describe the reasons for the collapse of Byzantium
