Course Objective


It is to teach techniques such as gold crushing, gold plating, writing sticking, zerefşan, ring, painting, aher and imprinting, the use of brushes, and the use of materials such as compass, trilin, gelatin, and mic that are the basis of illumination design principles.
At the same time, the technique of making the border designs around the calligraphy
Zencereks, Rumi border designs (single, two and three thread borders, etc.)

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the materials used in Turkish illumination design principles and to be competent in their use.
2   The application of the techniques used in Turkish illumination design (gold plating, zerafşan, ring, painting, etc.) on paper
3   Application of techniques used in Turkish illumination design (gold plating, zerafşan, ring, painting, etc.) on paper
4   Using the techniques used in illumination design principles in different disciplines. To have professional responsibility and ethical awareness..
5   In this course, the presentation of the materials used in Turkish illumination art and the methods of using these materials will be taught.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods



The course is theoretical with 2 credits; It will be processed as an application with 2 credits. To be able to comprehend the subjects such as the main principles of illumination design, material presentation, technical information about its use, and to carry out studies on the application of these on paper. Since this applied course is the basic course of the discipline to which the student is affiliated and can strengthen the ability and competence of drawing original designs with a workshop, participation in the course is important and will also be evaluated.

Even if those who come after the lesson start time are taken to the lesson, they are considered as half lesson participation. All entries will be taken into consideration at the rate stated above. Towards the end of each lesson, the subject to be covered in the next lesson is presented to the student as a study-research subject. Before the first presentation of the presented subject in the lesson, the study-research results are discussed and the lesson begins.
