Course Objective

To provide students the ability to transfer scientific theoretical knowledge to clinical practice

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows how to approach sick animals and animal owners, how to take anamnesis
2   Knows the application of basic and advanced examination methods taught in theoretical courses.
3   Evaluates different techniques and diagnostic methods in reaching the correct diagnosis
4   Selects the most appropriate method from different medical and surgical application alternatives in the treatment of the disease
5   Informs the patient owner about the prognosis
6   He/she can intervene in terms of zoonotic diseases with occupational safety rules, patient, patient owner and physician relationship

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Physical examination of animals brought to the clinic
2 Obtaining laboratory samples (blood, urine) in sick animals and evaluation of the results
3 Gynecological examination applications in female animals of different species
4 Sperm collection from different species of male animals and their microscopic examination
5 Application of visiul diagnosis methods (x-ray, ultrasonography, endoscopy) in diagnosis of the diseases
6 Intraket administration, injection techniques and serum administration in animals that have been treated
7 Pregnancy examination and rectal examination applications in different species of female animals
8 Passing the catheter through the cervix and application of artificial insemination
9 Disinfection of the operation area, sterilization of operating instruments and preparation of the operation team in patients to be operated
10 Preparing preparations from samples taken from various tissues and performing microscopic examinations
11 Different gynecological examination practices in female animals of different species
12 Fertility and microscopic evaluation of sperm
13 Application of different suture techniques according to tissues and organs
14 Probe application in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system diseases
