Course Objective

To make student know, and gain ability to apply relevant methods about the definition and principles of pulmonary rehabilitation, purpose of chest physiotherapy, application techniques, assesment of pulmonary diseases in terms of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, planning of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programme and physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches for intensive care units.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows basic respiratory lung diseases and their pathopyhsiologies
2   Knows the definition, contents and importance of pulmonary rehabilitation
3   Knows and applies assesment methods in terms of pulmonary rehabilitation and keeps relevant records
4   Knows and applies related approaches about pulmonary rehabiliation
5   Creates patient-specific pulmonary rehabilitation program
6   Gives the patient information about pulmonary rehabilitation programme and its assesment
7   Knows and applies physiotherapy and applications about intensive care

Course Policies and Rules


The course has 4 lecturers. Each week will be taught by the responsible faculty member on Thursdays between 18:30 and 22:15 as 4 course hours. Each lecturer ( Prof. Didem karadibak-3 week, Prof. Sema Savcı-3 week, Prof. Sevgi Özalevli- 3 week, Assoc. prof. Serap Acar -4 week) who is responsible for lecturing according to the subject will attend the lecture for 13 hour in total throughout the semester and teach the relevant subject.
