Course Objective

Making the students to sense the ways of rhetoric and effective speaking-writing, to speak and write their mother language Turkish in an effective way

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To make the students who are always communicating and interacting with the environment gain the skill of healthy contacts with the society
2   To make the students know the types of written and oral expression for students to be able to explain their feeling and thoughts in a healthy way
3   To make implementations and exercises which are intended for the goal of improve the students rhetoric speaking and writing skills
4   To develop the students liberal education related knowledge and skills during their both university life and career
5   To develop the students social life related knowledge and skills during their both university life and career

1 Informing about the course s goals and targets
2 Born of the speaking and writing (mythologic statement)
3 Elocution (description, factors which ruin speaking) components of speaking and writing
4 Main types of speaking and writing in the perspective of their function a) daily speaking-discussion b) novel-tale-dairy-article-conversation
5 Relationships of the speaker and the listener, effective listening, process of listening (reasonable-flubdub-propaganda) relation of listening and characteristics
6 Throwing of voice-speaking organ-smiling-laugh-crying (theatral presentation) nursery rhymes (vowels and consonants related practices)
7 Preparation of scientific writings and speeches, utilization of nursery rhymes and poems for getting a running speaking language
8 Body language-its expressions-using the body language in a healthy way
9 Preparation of a presentation or graduation speech-letter and petition writing-types of letters
10 Defect of writing and expression, the factors of these (related dubbings of the columns in the newspapers and magazines...)
11 Writing short tale-dubbing tale and text
12 Dubbing implementations of chosen poems and texts in world literature
