Course Objective

In the course content, Analysis of statically indeterminate structures by force method under dead and live loads are explained. Moreover, temperature changes and support settlements, computation of displacements by virtual work principle, analysis of systems by displacement methods: slope-deflection and moment distribution method for the systems without joint translations, slope-deflection equations for the frames with joint translations. Influence lines are given in detailed.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Classification of indeterminate structural systems and their solution types
2   Comparison of structural systems considering their advantages and disadvantages
3   Selecting different structural systems for simplification
4   To be able to interpret the internal force and displacement of the loads in the hyperstatic systems and to interpret the results
5   To be able to research information about the solution methods of building systems and to be able to solve the problem with interdisciplinary studies

Mode of Delivery
