Course Objective

This course aims to introduce you to the fundamentals of digital control theory and to teach the techniques of control system design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to describe the fundamental components of digital control systems
2   Be able to derive mathematical models applicable to the design of relevant control systems
3   Be able to analyze the sampled data feedback loops by z transform
4   Be able to analyze and design of simple discrete control systems using root-locus, frequency response and state-space methods
5   Be able to use MATLAB and SIMULINK in the analysis, design and simulation of discrete-time control systems
