Course Objective

In addition to discussing preservice teachers field experiences at their placement schools, the course also aims to have student teachers practice designing and implementing a lesson independently, to have student teachers do micro-teachings in which they practice subject-specific instructional strategies and techniques, as well as to improve their skills in designing instructional activities and materials, designing instructional environments and have them practice class management, assessment and evaluation, and reflection on their teaching.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognize and assess the subject-specific instructional strategies and techniques.
2   Do and evaluate in which they practice subject-specific instructional strategies and techniques.
3   Develop and implement subject-specific educational activities and materials.
4   Plan and implement a lesson independently.
5   Design instructional environments.
6   Keep track of student learning by using a variety of evaluation and assessment methods.
7   Do self-evaluation by reflecting on their teaching.
