Course Objective

To teach the general principles of life cycle of helminths and parasites, their diseases, epidemiology, diagnosis and treatment methods and protection

1   To learn about parasitic and helminth diseases seen in pets, to learn the ways of diagnosis and treatment.

1 Introduction, importance of parasitology for human and animal health, parasite types
2 Classification of parasites, parasite-host relationship, life cycle of parasites
3 Transplantation of parasites, transmission and ecology of cysts and eggs
4 Reproductive physiology in parasites and migration period and site selection of parasites in the host
5 Symptoms of parasitic diseases, treatment and prevention, parasitic zoonoses
6 Introduction to helmintology and parasitology, classification
7 General features and systematics of trematodes
8 Examining of Dicrocoelium and Fasciolidae family
9 Investigation of Heterophyidae, Paramphistomidae, Schistosomatidae families
10 Biology of the Strigeidae family
11 General features of sestodes, Diphyllibothridae, Taeniidae, Ascaridae family and Nematodes
12 Biology of Anaplocephalidae, Hymenolepididae, Davaineidae, Dilepididae family
13 Biology of Trichostrongylidae, Filariidae, Setariidae and Onchocercidae families
14 Biology of Trichinella and Dioctophymatidae families
