It is purposed students to gain analytical thinking with lecturing fundamental concepts of mathematics, to learn how to use mathematics for the business problems with examples, and to increase developing solution abilities for future business problems.

 Week Subject Description 1 Numbers: Real numbers (Natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers), Exponents and Roots. 2 Equations and Inequalities (I): Linear Equations and Graphs, Basic Analytic Geometry 3 Equations and Inequalities (II): Basic Analytic Geometry (continued), Break-even Analysis, Quadratic Equations and Graphs 4 Equations and Inequalities (III): Quadratic Equations and Graphs (continued), Linear and Quadratic Inequalities, Absolute Value 5 Functions (I): Definitions, Dependent and Independent Variables, Opened and Closed Mapping, Odd and Even Functions, Periodic Functions, Inverse Functions 6 Functions (II): Polynomial Functions, Rational Functions, Antilogarithms, Logarithmic Functions, Simple and Compound Interest 7 Mid-Term Exam 8 Mid-Term Exam 9 Functions (III): Logarithmic Functions, Simple and Compound Interest 10 Capital Sigma and Pi Notation: Capital-sigma Notation (Formulations, properties), Capital Pi Notation (Properties) 11 Sequences, Series and Limit (I): Sequences (Definitions, arithmetic and geometric sequences), Limits of Sequences (Rules of limits) 12 Sequences, Series and Limit (II): Series (Definitions, arithmetic and geometric series) 13 Sequences, Series and Limit (III): Limit of Functions (Two-sided limits, theorems of limits, indefiniteness, continuousness) 14 Derivatives: Definitions, Rules of Differentiate, Derivatives of Various Functions, Higher Order Derivatives 15 Final Exam 16 Final Exam
