Offered By

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Level of Course Unit

First Cycle Programmes (Bachelor's Degree)

Offered to

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Course Objective

Students are expected to learn and understand the overall design process including techniques, methods and procedures that add structure and organization to the design process. They will have the opportunity to apply this process to a real electronics engineering design problem. This will involve the conceptualization and design of a project involving brainstorming, problem solving, design development and detailed analytical support.
Students will learn a structured process for design and to apply this design process to a project having commercial applications. In the course of doing this, students will also learn new things (about engineering, about working together in teams, about themselves), and hopefully, have fun.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understan basic engineering design principles
2   Ability to solve an engineering design problem
3   Ability to prepare the budget of the project
4   Ability to manage project phases, plan the time line and work packages project
5   Ability to work in teams
6   To implement the designed project
7   To evaluate and analyse results
8   To develop oral and written communication skills
