* Marine discharges and technology in terms of marine chemistry and environmental engineering
* Physical oceanography and marine mechanics, wave mechanics
* Coastal and coastal structures engineering and technology
* Marine mapping and bathymetry
* Marine equipment technology
* Marine technology and economics of the legal issues related to it
* Marine structures and technology

* Seismicity studies for Investigation of submarine faults and determination of young tectonic structures,
* To study tsunami by investigating existing and potential landslides under the sea,
* Modeling of coastal development by revealing the dynamics of coastal sediment,
* Geochemical studies on the sediment samples for marine pollution.
* According to future climatic estimates, collect data on behalf of policy formulation for legislators energy, water, fisheries and agriculture by determining the causes and consequences of changes in palaeoclimatic on the sediment samples.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

In addition to the compulsory courses of the programme, students register to elective courses appropriate for their thesis topic, on the consent of their supervisor. If necessary, on the consent of their supervisor, they can also register to courses from other programmes (from DEU or other universities). It is obligatory to register MAT5001 Applied Mathematics (3 0 0) or MAT5002 Numerical and Approximate Methods (3 0 0) or MAT5041 Mathematical Mehods (3 0 0) with approval of the supervisor. In the case of one of these courses taken during the M.Sc. education, these are not obligatory. The registration must be noticed to the Institute during course registration period by the supervisor. For Ph. D. students it is obligatory to take minimum 2 non-credit courses among "Ph. D. Programs Common Elective Courses" and be successful with grade (B) within 4 semesters of course taking period.
